Empowering Education: The FSF’s Commitment to Learning
The French Scholarship Foundation (FSF) stands as a beacon of hope for families encountering financial challenges, ensuring that education remains accessible and uninterrupted for their children. Established in 2015, this London-based charity has been instrumental in supporting students at the Collège Français Bilingue de Londres (CFBL) and the Lycée International de Londres Winston Churchill (LIL), regardless of nationality.
A Bilingual Legacy: CFBL and LIL
At the heart of London’s vibrant educational landscape, CFBL and LIL offer a unique bilingual experience. CFBL, nestled in Kentish Town, provides a nurturing environment for over 700 students, blending the French national curriculum with a significant portion of English instruction. LIL, on the other hand, serves 850 students with its French-English bilingual track and an English track leading to the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Both institutions are committed to fostering well-rounded, forward-thinking global citizens.
Financial Support: Bridging the Gap
The FSF’s role is crucial in bridging the financial gap for families. As private schools that do not receive government funding, CFBL and LIL rely on the FSF to offer a lifeline to those in need. The foundation handles applications impartially and confidentially, providing means-tested bursaries in collaboration with the French Consulate General in London.
Volunteer Trustees: The Pillars of FSF
Guided by six volunteer trustees, the FSF is a testament to community spirit and generosity. These individuals dedicate their time and energy to assist families, raise funds, and ensure the foundation’s success. Their efforts have allowed the FSF to expand its reach and impact, helping more students continue their education without financial hindrance.
